Description

High-build non-slip two-pack epoxy floor paint is a specialized type of epoxy coating designed for industrial and commercial flooring applications where durability, chemical resistance, and slip resistance are essential. Here's a breakdown of its key features:
Epoxy Resin Base: Epoxy resin is a popular choice for floor coatings due to its excellent adhesion, durability, and chemical resistance.
Two-Pack Formulation: This means the coating consists of two components that need to be mixed together before application: epoxy resin and a hardener. Mixing these components initiates a chemical reaction that forms a tough, resilient coating.
Spreading Rate (Coverage):
A 5kg tin will cover approximately 17-20+ square meters per coat. Coverage rates vary depending on surface area and porosity.
Coverage is based on an application thickness of 400-500 microns for 2 coats.
Drying/Cure Time:
We recommend you allow a minimum of 24 hours at 20°C prior to allowing foot traffic and 48 hours at 20°C prior to allowing vehicular traffic on the coated area(s). 7 days of curing at 20°C are advised prior to exposure to chemicals.
The minimum application temperature for this product is 7°C, Both surface and ambient temperature.
Under normal circumstances, this product will be:
Tack Free Time in approximately 8-12 hours (at 20°c)
Hard Dry Time in approximately 12-24 hours (at 20°c)
Full Chemical Resistance in approximately 7 days (at 20°c)
Temperatures below 20°C will slow curing times.
Suitable Substrates:
Can be used on correctly prepared (see application tab above) concrete, metal and wood as well as most other porous substrates.
Power floated and polished floors must be ground using a floor grinder prior to application of this paint with the primer/sealer.
Not recommended for use on self-levelling floors as they tend to be non-porous.
High-Build: High-build coatings are thicker and provide greater coverage per coat compared to standard coatings. This allows for the creation of a thicker protective layer, which can help level uneven surfaces and fill minor imperfections in the substrate.
Non-Slip Properties: Non-slip additives are incorporated into the epoxy formulation to provide traction and prevent slips and falls, even in wet or oily conditions. These additives typically consist of fine particles such as silica, aluminum oxide, or polymer beads that create a textured surface.
Chemical Resistance: Epoxy floor coatings are highly resistant to a wide range of chemicals, including oils, solvents, acids, and alkalis. This makes them suitable for use in environments where spills or exposure to harsh chemicals are common.
Easy to Clean: Epoxy floor coatings have a smooth, non-porous surface that is easy to clean and maintain. Spills can be wiped up quickly without staining or damaging the coating.
When applying high-build non-slip two-pack epoxy floor paint, it's essential to follow the manufacturer's instructions carefully regarding surface preparation, mixing ratios, application methods, and curing times to ensure optimal performance and longevity of the coating. Additionally, proper safety precautions, such as adequate ventilation and personal protective equipment, should be observed during the application process.
